About Pappas & Co. Landscaping

From Lincoln Park the steeples of Tremont stand against a sky that changes its mind four times a day, and below the bluff the Flats keep on working. Pappas & Co. Landscaping keeps the yards up here — narrow lots, old stone walks, grass squeezed between porch and tree lawn — mowing and trimming and edging them through the green months, then hauling out the leaves when the maples finally let go. The season turns, the wind swings around off the water, and the same trucks come back with plows to open driveways and clear the front steps. There is a pleasure in knowing a street both ways: which corner floods in a July downpour, which one drifts shut in January. The work looks different in each half of the year and it amounts to the same thing — a place kept up and kept passable.
