Stripes Lawn Care

About Stripes Lawn Care

Come a July evening in Kettering, the sun drops low behind Lincoln Park and every lawn on the block goes the color of a lit lamp. That is the hour when the work shows: Stripes Lawn Care is named for exactly what it leaves behind, mown bands laid in alternating passes so the grass catches the light one way and shades the other. A cut here is the whole job — the deck run true down the long side of the yard, the trimmer taking the fence line and the mailbox post clean, a firm edge cut where turf meets the walk, then everything blown off the concrete before the truck moves on. Kettering yards are mostly flat and generous, the kind of ground that rewards a straight line, and there is quiet pride in a lawn that still reads sharp two days later. By the time the crickets start up on the side streets, the block looks combed.
