Big League Lawns

About Big League Lawns

Along the Auglaize the ground stays cold well into April, then a warm rain comes through and every yard in the township wakes at once. Big League Lawns takes the first cuts of the year — knocking down winter growth, running the trimmer along foundations, edging the drives, clearing whatever the thaw uncovered. Evenings stretch long out here, low sun running clear down the section-line roads, and the mowing goes on until the light quits. There is a pleasure in that opening pass over a rough yard, watching it turn back into a lawn under the deck. After that it is simply holding the rhythm all the way to fall.
