About Clean Slate Property Maintenance

Winter arrives in this stretch of Jefferson County by way of the river valley — fog freezing onto guardrails, a wind that finds every gap in the hills above Island Creek. Clean Slate Property Maintenance keeps the overnight watch, plowing steep drives and switchbacks before the first alarm goes off. Snow gets pushed well clear, walks are shoveled down to the surface, and salt goes where the grade would otherwise turn to glass. There is a particular hush at four in the morning when the blade drops and a white driveway becomes a black one. By breakfast the cars are out and the day belongs to the people who live there.
