Velvet Lawns

About Velvet Lawns

Step onto a Hamilton lawn at six on a June morning and the dew is over your shoes before you've gone three steps. Velvet Lawns works for exactly that feeling — mowing, trimming and edging so the turf runs even and soft underfoot, from town out to Millville and the Hanover Township roads. The Ohio Valley hands a lawn everything it needs in early summer: warm nights, heavy air, rain that arrives in the dark. What's left after a cut is texture, a surface you want to walk across barefoot, framed by a border that doesn't wander. Some yards are for looking at; the good ones are for standing in.
