Chuck's Lawn Care

About Chuck's Lawn Care

By late August the Sandusky County Fairgrounds fills up and the whole town smells like cut grass and fryer oil, with every lawn in Fremont at its thickest. Chuck's Lawn Care runs mowing, edging, trimming and cleanups through that green stretch, then turns the truck over to plowing, shoveling and salting once the ground hardens. Two halves of one year, both about the same thing: a property somebody can cross without thinking about it. The pride sits in the small evidence — a shorn strip along a fence, a driveway scraped down to bare pavement. Either half of the calendar, the list of houses stays the same.
