About JJ Earthworks

The old canal stonework is still down there under the greening bank, and every April the grass around it wakes up all at once. JJ Earthworks is out for that first cut of the year, mowing, trimming the ragged edges winter left behind, and hauling off the litter of sticks and matted leaves so the yard can breathe again. From there it becomes a rhythm: regular mowing through the growing months, borders kept tight, and a full cleanup when the maples finally let go in the fall. Franklin's river-bottom soil grows a heavy, ambitious lawn, which is a good problem to have and a better one to stay ahead of. Come evening the stripes lie straight and the property looks looked-after.
