Grasshopper Lawn Works

About Grasshopper Lawn Works

By the middle of July the ridges above Elkrun run hot and loud — hay down in the next field, insects going in the fencerow, heat standing over the road. Grasshopper Lawn Works keeps its route through all of it: mowing on the week it is due, string trimming around posts and downspouts, edging the drive, and blowing the clippings off the concrete before the truck rolls. Summer grass has moods, and reading them — when to raise the deck, when to let a dry lawn rest — is most of the craft. What a customer sees is simply a lawn that looks the same good way every week, right through the hottest stretch of the year. Around Salem and Columbiana, that steadiness is the whole point.
