Steep Hill Mowing

About Steep Hill Mowing

The name is a description of the ground: Sandy Township pitches and rolls, and half the yards here sit on a bank most mowers would rather not meet. Steep Hill Mowing takes those slopes on — cutting, trimming and edging the banks, terraces and ditch lines that decide whether a hill place looks kept or wild. On a hot July afternoon there is no shade on a south-facing slope and no easy pass across it, just a line chosen carefully and then held. Done well, a steep yard reads as one smooth green sheet from the bottom of the drive. That view is the point of the whole afternoon.
