Autumn comes down through Embshoff Woods in stages, first the sycamores, then everything else, until the yards on the surrounding streets are ankle-deep and gold. Hicks Lawn and Landscape works that season hard — leaf cleanup, final mowings, edges cut back sharp before the ground goes cold. Earlier in the year the same lawns get weekly cutting and trimming through Delhi's long humid summer. There is real pleasure in the last pass of the season, a lawn stripped clean and even, ready to sleep. The service runs across Delhi Township and out into the neighboring west-side communities.
