About Skiver Excavating LLC

West of Defiance the fields run flat to the horizon with nothing to slow the wind, and a January storm does not fall so much as travel sideways. Skiver Excavating LLC meets it with equipment built for moving heavy things — plowing out drives and commercial lots, stacking snow where it will not block a sightline, clearing walks and gates, salting the approaches that glaze over first. The best part of the night is the moment pavement reappears behind the blade, dark and wet and open again. Drifts rebuild themselves out here, so the route gets run twice, sometimes three times, until it holds. By the time the county wakes up, the way in is already the way out.
