Goliath Tree & Lawn Service

About Goliath Tree & Lawn Service

The old neighborhoods of Defiance keep their big trees — maples and walnuts that stood tall before the sidewalks were poured — and in late October they let everything go at once. Goliath Tree & Lawn Service works under that canopy, mowing and trimming while the grass grows and then clearing leaves by the truckload when the wind decides. Winter turns the job to snow: plowing drives, opening walks, spreading salt on the slick spot at the bottom of a slope. There is a pleasure in the last raked pass over a lawn in November, the ground bare and combed and ready for whatever comes down on it. Big work, small details, both belonging to the same yard.
