About Bladecutter's Inc.

Freezing rain is Dayton's meanest trick — not a foot of powder but a quarter inch of glass laid over Wayne Avenue while everybody sleeps. Bladecutter's Inc. answers it with the blade down and the spreader running, opening driveways and lots, cutting the pack back to pavement, salting the low spots at the bottom of a slope where everything refreezes first. These storms come down the Ohio Valley on their own schedule, and it is rarely a convenient one. The good moment arrives at the end of a long night: a lot swept wide open, windrows stacked out of the way, tires finding grip where there was none. Then on to the next one before the sun clears the rooftops.
