Baker's Property Maintenance

About Baker's Property Maintenance

Bakers keep the earliest hours in any town, and so does anyone who runs a plow. When a clipper comes down over Salem Avenue at two in the morning, Baker's Property Maintenance is already awake — blade down, drive by drive, lot by lot, salt spread thin and even across the ice that Dayton's thaw-and-refreeze nights leave behind. By the time the coffee is on and the school buses are grinding up the hill, the pavement is dark and wet and perfectly ordinary. That ordinariness is the point; a cleared driveway should feel like nothing ever happened. Winter in the Miami Valley makes its own schedule, and the work is simply to be there ahead of it.
