The Sandusky River starts small near Crestline — a creek you could step across, running north through the fields past Lowe-Volk on its long way to the lake. In winter it goes to glass at the edges, and the same cold that does that to water does it to a driveway apron overnight. River Run Solutions works snow removal across town and out along the roads toward Leesville and New Washington: plowing, clearing walkways and steps, and laying salt where ice keeps coming back. Storms out of the northwest have nothing here to slow them down, which is exactly why somebody has to get ahead of them.
