Coshocton Street Department

About Coshocton Street Department

Coshocton sits low where the rivers meet and climbs hard in every direction, and that geometry is the whole story of a snow night. The Coshocton Street Department runs the city's plow routes when the county goes white — clearing streets, salting the grades and the corners, opening the hills before the buses roll and first shift heads in. It is public work in the plainest sense: nobody sees the truck at three in the morning, everybody sees the road at seven. Storm after storm the routes get run in the same order until the map comes back to bare pavement. A town that can get to work is a town the plows already visited.
