About Andy's Tree Service

Cortland is a town with a lake for a neighbor. Mosquito Creek Lake lies broad and open just west of the village, and the wind that crosses all that water reaches the shoreline oaks with nothing left to slow it. Andy's Tree Service takes on the big removals and the patient work in between — raising crowns over driveways, thinning limbs that lean too far toward a roofline, cutting out deadwood before a July squall finds it first. After a blow rakes the shore, the crew clears what came down and carries the wreckage off so a yard reads as a yard again. The pleasure of the trade here is standing back at dusk with the water going gold and seeing a tree that looks untouched — only better balanced, and lighter on its feet.
