About Evergreen Hardscapes LLC

By two o'clock in August the thunderheads have stacked themselves over the Galisteo Basin, and everyone in Eldorado works with one eye on the sky. Evergreen Hardscapes LLC uses those mornings well — mowing, trimming and shaping the small green places that sit between flagstone, gravel and the open piñon country beyond. The work is as much about what borders the grass as the grass itself: a set stone line at the walk, a swept gravel margin, weeds pulled from the joints before they take hold. Then the rain comes hard for twenty minutes, runs the arroyos, and leaves the whole mesa smelling of wet dust and juniper. What stays behind after the storm — a lawn cut even, its borders holding, no silt washed across the path — is the part worth doing right.
