About ALL CITY STUMP GRINDING, LLC

Columbus grew up along two rivers and kept its ravines, so a city this size still has streets where the Olentangy's hackberry and ash lean out over the pavement. ALL CITY STUMP GRINDING, LLC covers the whole grid — a removal in a Clintonville back yard, trimming to lift a crown off a German Village slate roof, and then the piece that closes the job: the stump ground out, the chips carried off, the hollow filled and evened. A stump is the last of a tree's argument with a lawn, and grinding ends the argument — no ridge under the mower blade, nothing left to steer around, just ground you can plant. Franklin County clay is heavy and the roots run wide through it, which is why the machine goes deeper than looks necessary from the sidewalk. What is left is a yard that gives no evidence anything was ever there.
