Lake Erie sits a short drive north, and in January it sends its snow south in long grey bands that find nothing on the Columbia Station flats to slow them down. Out here the wind builds a drift across a driveway faster than a shovel can argue with it. Moscarino Landscape + Design runs the dark hours against that, plowing, clearing walks and laying salt while the bands keep marching in. There is a particular satisfaction in the moment the headlights swing back around and the pavement is simply there again — black, wide and passable. By first light the storm may still be falling, and the drive is already open.
