Ice Dam Guys

About Ice Dam Guys

In a Cleveland winter the trouble often begins overhead rather than underfoot: a mild afternoon, a hard freeze after dark, and meltwater backing up in a ridge along the eaves. Ice Dam Guys works that line, clearing snow off roofs, freeing the ice that gathers at the gutters, and then opening the walks and drives below so the ground matches the roof. Out toward North Collinwood the wind comes straight off the water past the old Euclid Beach shore, and the freeze-and-thaw arrives on its own schedule, often twice in a week. The good moment is the one where the eave runs clear again and the drip finds the downspout the way it should. The crew covers Cleveland and the lakeside communities east of it.
