J.S. Goode

About J.S. Goode

East of Circleville the flat country starts to roll, and Hargus Lake sits in that fold with A.W. Marion's woods around it — cool water in July, a rim of ice by January. J.S. Goode works the properties out that way and back into town, mowing, trimming and edging while the season runs long and green. When the cold takes hold the job changes: plowing lanes open, clearing walks, spreading salt on the slopes and curves that hold ice the longest. Country drives are their own puzzle, further from the road than in town and quicker to fill shut. Getting one open by morning is the good part of a winter night.
