About Chardon Welding

January on the ridge is a long, patient night. Snow stacks up on the climb toward town, and somewhere around three in the morning a plow light swings across a driveway that has to be open by six. Chardon Welding takes the storms as they come — pushing back drifts, clearing turnarounds, laying down salt where the last melt froze into glass. The reward is small and it is everything: a drive with clean shoulders, a walk you can cross in shoes, headlights pulling out on time. When the wind finally quits and the hills go blue with morning, the work is already behind them.
