About On the Other Side

Everyone in town measures things by the bridge — you are either on this side of the Chagrin or you are on the other one. On the Other Side takes lawns on both banks: mowing on a set rotation, edging along drives and walks, trimming wherever the mower cannot fit. Spring and fall cleanups bookend the year, clearing off what winter left and then what the maples send down. Yards up from the water run narrow and steep in places, which makes a straight cut something you have to earn. Cross the river, cut it clean, leave the place better than you found it.
