Front & Center Turf

About Front & Center Turf

By the middle of a township July the heat sits down on the grass and stays. Front & Center Turf reads a lawn the way a farmer reads a field: how it is growing, how high to take it this week, which direction to run the passes so the stripes fall with the light. The work is mowing, trimming, edging, and tidying up afterward, on a rhythm the grass sets rather than the calendar. In a place that carries the middle of the map in its name, there is something fitting about tending the middle of a yard until the whole thing evens out. Come back seven days later and the color has closed over, and the lines are ready to be laid again.
