Rice's

About Rice's

Downtown Canton at midnight in February: the Palace marquee throwing color onto wet brick, Market Avenue empty, snow coming down slow and steady through the streetlights. Rice's works those hours — plowing lots and drives, clearing walks and entryways down to the surface, salting the corners and curb cuts where everybody steps off. Downtown snow has to go somewhere sensible, banked clear of sight lines and doorways, and that placement is half the craft. By the time the first lights come on along Fourth Street, the pavement has to be ready for boots. Quiet work, done while the town sleeps, and worth doing right.
