About Garden Property maintenance

Long before the pavement, this stretch of the west side was garden ground — market rows and greenhouse glass feeding Cleveland from the flats. Come February that same earth goes pale and iron-hard, and Garden Property maintenance heads out to meet it: plowing drives and lots, shoveling steps and walkways by hand, spreading salt where ice sets up overnight. Wind arrives off the lake with very little in its way, and a drift will rebuild along a fence while you stand there watching it happen. The reward is uncomplicated — an open driveway at daybreak, grip underfoot at the front door, a morning that goes ahead exactly as planned. Snow removal for Brooklyn and the towns crowded up against its borders.
