Crawford's Lawn & Landscape

About Crawford's Lawn & Landscape

In October the brick storefronts downtown catch a low gold light, and the maples on the side streets let go all at once. Crawford's Lawn & Landscape spends those weeks putting in the last cuts of the season and clearing leaves off lawns and walks before the rain mats them flat. Earlier in the year the same properties get the regular round — mowing, trimming, edging, bed cleanups — so a place always looks tended. Then the weather turns and the work turns with it: plowing, shoveling walks, salting the ice that forms overnight on the north side of every building. Bowling Green is a walking town most of the year, and it stays one in February because somebody got up first.
