About Birchlawns

Late May in this part of Miami County is all hedgerow shade and thunderheads building somewhere west of the interstates. Birchlawns keeps lawns through it — weekly cutting, string trimming around posts and mailboxes, edging where turf tries to creep over the concrete. There is a real satisfaction in a yard that reads as one clean sheet of green under maple and birch shadow, with no ragged fence line and no clippings strewn across the walk. Grass runs fast here after a warm rain, and the answer is simply showing up on schedule. Bethel Township, Phoneton and the roads toward Vandalia make up the regular run.
