About MAK Services LLC

By February the township roads out past Berne carry a memory of every storm in them — a plow line here, a drift shoulder there, old ice riding under a fresh two inches. MAK Services LLC runs nights like those, headlights swinging across mailboxes and barn ends on the grade above the Hocking valley. The work is plain and physical: push the drive back to bare surface, shovel the walk and the porch steps, salt the shaded turn where meltwater always finds its way back to ice. Morning comes and a thermos gets carried out to a truck parked on a clear apron of blacktop. That is the entire point of the night before.
