Agroscapes

About Agroscapes

Snow reaches Berne Township without much announcement — a gray thickening over the ridge farms, then the hollows going soft and white down toward Rush Creek. Agroscapes works those small hours, when the township roads are one unbroken page and a porch light out toward Sugar Grove is the only landmark for half a mile. Driveways get opened back to the gravel, walks and steps cleared by hand, and de-icer laid along the north-side stretches where shade keeps the ice stubborn. There is a particular satisfaction in a farm lane standing open before the first school bus, in a dooryard swept flat while the fields beyond stay untouched. Winter is a long argument out here, and plowing is how we hold up our end.
