About American Turf Garden Center

There is a week in April when Bedford's old square smells like cut grass again, and every yard on the side streets off Broadway wants attention at the same time. American Turf Garden Center meets that week head-on — mowing, edging and cleanups that pull winter's grit out of the beds and off the walks. The same lawns get carried through the summer heat and into leaf-drop, and then the trucks change over to plowing, shoveling and salt once the cold takes hold across Cuyahoga County. Grass here grows on old glacial ground, generous when it's fed and stubborn when it isn't. The pleasure of the job is standing back at the sidewalk afterward and seeing exactly where the mower stopped and the pavement began.
