About CopenScapes

The old canal towpath runs north out of Barberton along the water, and in September the fog sits on it until nine in the morning. CopenScapes works the yards on either side of that corridor — mowing, edging, trimming and the fall cleanups that come when the sycamores let go all at once. Grass in that river-cooled air holds its color late, which makes the last cuts of the year some of the finest-looking ones. There is a real feeling to standing back from a lawn that has been squared up and cleared off. Barberton and the nearby stretches of Norton, Clinton and New Franklin are where that happens.
