Sharp Snow and Ice Management

About Sharp Snow and Ice Management

The dangerous mornings around here almost never look dangerous: a flat gray sky, a thin shine on the blacktop, no snow to speak of. Sharp Snow and Ice Management reads that shine for what it is and treats for it — salting and de-icing lots, drives and walkways across Ohio Township, and plowing when a storm actually gives something to push. Freezing drizzle off the valley finds the same places every time, the low corner of a lot, the shaded strip beside a building, the last four feet before a doorway, and those get worked first. The measure of a good night is boring: everyone arrives, nobody slides, no one thinks about the pavement at all. Chasing that quiet outcome, storm after storm, is the entire point of the trade.
