About Athens Lawn & Gardening

Athens folds itself around the Hocking River, and the bottomland gardens down there wake up weeks before the hillside yards do. Athens Lawn & Gardening tends both — mowing, trimming, edging and garden bed care through the growing season, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the hills turn slick. Rain-fed summers here mean everything grows faster than anyone planned for, and the answer is simply to keep coming back. Winter is a different discipline: opening a drive that pitches downhill toward a brick street, and getting it right before the town wakes up. The same hands, the same yards, all the way around the calendar.
