Flanders and Sons

About Flanders and Sons

Out at the breakwall the lake spends all summer pretending to be gentle, and everyone in this town knows better. Flanders and Sons plans around both of its faces — mowing, trimming and seasonal cleanups through the green months, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the water starts feeding the sky. Yard work here is a running conversation with the weather: mow after the fog burns off, rake before the wind carries the leaves to the neighbor. Winter is blunter and just as particular — open the drive, clear the walk, salt the north side that never quite dries. Either way the aim is a property that stays usable no matter what Erie is doing.
