Brobst Tree & Stump Service

About Brobst Tree & Stump Service

There is a particular hush over Ashtabula around three in the morning, when the wind has swung northwest and the lake starts throwing snow at the shore. Brobst Tree & Stump Service is out in it with the blade down — driveways and lots opened up, walkways cleared, salt laid where a packed track would otherwise turn to glass by breakfast. The measure of a night like that is simple, and it is the entire point: the drive is open before anyone needs it. Headlights, a windrow stacked well clear of the mailbox, tail lights moving on to the next street. Morning arrives and the storm looks like something that happened to somebody else.
