Amboy Township is wide-open Fulton County — section-line roads, a horizon you can see all the way to, and wind with nothing to slow it down. Armstrong's lawn and landscape mows, trims and cleans up through the green months out here, then plows, shovels and salts once the fields go white. Flat country drifts: snow crosses the stubble and piles against a driveway in long combed ridges that have to be cut through rather than nudged. Getting that done before dawn, with the walks scraped and pavement showing, is the part worth taking pride in. Two very different trades, one standard, straight through the year.
