Miller's Plowing

About Miller's Plowing

Three in the morning, the storm finally tapering, and the road toward Minerva is a single set of tire tracks filling back in. Miller's Plowing is out in that hour, working down a list of drives — some short and paved, some two hundred feet of gravel bending back through the trees — and opening each one wide enough for a car to turn without a running start. Snow gets stacked where it will not slide back or block the sightline at the road. The householders wake to a clear apron and never see how it happened, which is exactly the arrangement. Snow removal for Alliance and the roads running out from it.
