About Backyard Stump and Tree Service

Dusk over Firestone Metro Park, snow coming sideways across the Tuscarawas bottomland, streetlights buzzing on early — that is when the plowing starts on Akron's south side. Backyard Stump and Tree Service runs the drives and lots down here, widening the entrance and pushing the piles well back so the next storm has somewhere to go. Steps and entryways get shoveled and treated, because that is where the falls happen. Working after dark has its own reward: the whole street is asleep and the asphalt comes up dark behind you. By morning nobody has to think about it, which is exactly the point.
