By mid-June the meadow paths at the Comeau are shoulder-high, and the mown yards around town look all the greener beside them. Pike Lane Gardens mows Woodstock lawns, trims neatly around borders, trees and stone, edges the walks and drives, and carries the clippings off. Spring and fall cleanups open and close the growing season, so the planting beds meet the grass on a clean, deliberate line. That crisp edge between bed and lawn does more for the look of a place than nearly anything else you can do to it.
