Earth clearing and cleaning

About Earth clearing and cleaning

April in Winfield is mud and stone: the frost lets go, the old walls shrug, and every hedgerow hands back a winter's worth of sticks. Earth clearing and cleaning takes that season on directly, raking out beds, clearing brush and debris, and getting a yard down to bare ground before the green starts. Then the mowing begins, week on week, with trimming to tidy the edges a mower cannot reach. There is a plain pleasure in a spring lawn that looks swept. The same care comes back around in October, when the hills let their leaves down all at once.
