About Snowfort Books

Westport sits on Northwest Bay, where Lake Champlain turns hard and gray in December and the wind crosses from the Vermont shore with nothing in its path. Snowfort Books handles the winter side of village life here — plowing driveways and lots, shoveling walks and entryways, salting and sanding the places that ice over between lake damp and Adirondack cold. Storms come across the water and stay a day, and the crew is back out behind them. Steep drives, deep banks, a village that keeps moving anyway.
