Route 5 runs the old Seneca Turnpike line straight through Westmoreland, cornfields either side and hedgerows planted to break the wind — except in February, when the squalls come down off Lake Ontario and there is nothing to break at all. Five Star Landscaping LLC takes the year in both halves: plowing drives and lots, shoveling walks, salting and sanding through the white months, then mowing, trimming and edging once the fields go green again.
