About J&W Contracting Corp.

Three in the morning on Jericho Turnpike, and the only things moving are the traffic lights and a plow. J&W Contracting Corp. keeps that shift — the long, cold, unwatched hours when a storm has to be pushed back before Westbury wakes and needs its lots and driveways. Plowing, walkway shoveling, salt and sand laid where ice sets up in the shade of a building. Between runs the crew watches the sky and heads back out, because a coastal storm rarely finishes when it says it will. Morning comes, the pavement is bare, and almost nobody knows who did it.
