About Wittman Sanitation

There's a rhythm to route work in a hill town, and Wittman Sanitation runs its lawn care the same way — the same yards, the same day, week after week through the green months. October asks the most of West Winfield: the sugar maples along the village streets drop everything at once and the ditches fill fast if nobody moves. Raking that off, taking the grass down a final time, leaving the turf open to the frost — that is how a yard comes through a Herkimer County winter without matting. Even ordinary weeks have something in them: a mowed strip beside a long gravel drive, the mailbox post trimmed round, the grass held back off the culvert. They cover West Winfield and the roads reaching toward Bridgewater, Cedarville and Richfield Springs.
