Lake Champlain Sanitation

About Lake Champlain Sanitation

From the flats west of West Chazy you can see the Adirondacks stacked blue on one horizon and feel the lake on the other, and between them the Little Chazy runs under its ice from December on. Lake Champlain Sanitation plows that stretch of Clinton County — driveways, lots, the walk from the door to the car — usually while it is still coming down and long before there is any light. Cold has staying power this far north, so ice control matters as much as the pushing does. A drive that has been opened and treated on a January morning is a small thing that makes the entire day possible. That is the errand: get people out of their driveways and on with it.
