The lawn in front of the Flower Memorial Library is one of the calmest greens in Watertown, and it makes a decent standard to hold yourself to. Hatchell's Lawn Care mows and trims through the long light of August, then returns in February with a plow and a shovel when that same ground has vanished under two feet. Summer work is about edges and evenness; winter work is about speed and clean corners at the end of a drive. Beds get cleared in spring, leaves in October, walks and steps in January. Following one property all the way around the calendar is a good way to learn it by heart.
