The Black River runs straight through the middle of Watertown, loud in spring where the whitewater piles up around Sewall's Island, low and glassy by August. Better Together Outdoor Services takes on both seasons the river announces: mowing, trimming and cleanups through the warm months, plowing and shoveling once the valley goes quiet and white. Two sets of hands make short work of a long driveway, and short work is the whole point when the wind is funneling down the river corridor. Lawns get cut on time; entries get opened before anyone has to guess where the pavement ends. Every property looks a little more cared-for afterward, which is a fair measure of a day.
