The morning after a storm, from the bluffs above the river near Bowdoin Park, the Hudson runs black between white banks and the whole valley looks scrubbed clean. Riverview Landscapes earns that view the hard way — plowing driveways and lots through the night, clearing walks and entries, salting the corners the sun won't reach until noon. Snow along the river here is heavy and wet more often than not, the kind that has to be pushed while it is still coming down. There is a real pleasure in the last pass, when the pavement finally comes up dark and even under the headlights. Then the truck moves on, and somebody in Wappingers Falls wakes to a driveway already done.
